Create the “Our House quilt” in this 4-hour workshop with Barb Cherniwchan. Your kit features Deb Strain’s Family Tree fabric in beautiful blues, mossy greens, and warm rusts, creating a warm neighbourhood scene filled with homes, trees, and heart blocks. In class, you’ll learn colour placement, pressing tips for diagonal piecing and narrow strips, and explore ways to reuse the pattern for gifts and community projects. | Instructor Bio: | Barb Cherniwchan - Owner and Designer at Coach House Designs. Barb & her husband live in the mountains surrounding Chilliwack BC and spend part of the year in St. John’s Newfoundland. Barb started in the quilting industry in 2000 when she opened an online quilt shop. From there she went on to two brick and mortar shops in Chilliwack and Abbotsford, BC and then to quilt pattern designing in 2009. She designs patterns in collaboration with fabric manufacturers to showcase upcoming fabric lines. Most of her time is spent working with Moda but she works with Riley Blake, Mia Presley Designs, Camelot, Clothworks, Benartex, Michael Miller, Free Spirit, Henry Glass, Hoffman, Maywood, Dear Stella, Timeless Treasures, Northcott/Figo and Studio E. Her work has appeared in several magazines including Quiltmania and Simply Moderne and the American Patchwork & Quilting Calendar. She has written two books - the recent Creative Pre-cut Quilts which is available now. She has sold a half million patterns worldwide. |
